General rules

OPEN COMP class is designed for any year, make and model vehicle Plus motorcycles,

Dragsters and Roadsters prohibited.

• All Run, Pro .500/Tree, Handicap Start, 1/8-mile, Break-out DQ, if both break-out (closes to dial wins)

• (2) qualifying Time Trials, Dial-ins will be .05 off the fastest qualifying time.

• Buy-Backs first round only.

• OPEN COMP field will be paired by Sportsman Ladder, number 1 qualifier will have the bye run.

• Trans-Brakes, Electric or pneumatic shifters and 2-Step permitted. Any modifications, vehicle weight or power adder permitted.

• Delay boxes, cross-over boxes or any “reaction-time related” electronic bracket racing aids are prohibited in class. Any car with a permanent mounted delay box must be turned off and all digits “zero” before entering water-box area and will be subject to inspection. Anyone caught cheating will be disqualified from the event.

• Deep Staging, is permitted, however not advocated. If you plan to deep stage, you must boldly display the word “DEEP” on all four windows, in plain view of the starter and competitor in opposite lane. It is the responsibility of the driver to stage the vehicle prior to the tree being activated. In any event the driver must be ready to leave as soon as the final stage light is lit. A competitor with the words “DEEP” displayed on window is not necessarily obligated to deep stage, however, the Starter is not necessarily obligated to wait on a driver to “DEEP stage”, even if the words “Deep” are displayed on vehicle. All drivers must be prepared to leave as soon as the final stage beam is lit.

• Class Safety: All Competitors must follow NHRA Safety Guidelines. Tech inspection will be required for all competitors in class. It is the responsibility of the participants to familiarize themselves with the NHRA Rules for Safety Requirements. The participant agrees that he/she bears the ultimate responsibility at all times to ensure the safety of the vehicle’s use and complies with all the applicable NHRA rules.
