Truly Humbled and Honored!
I’m incredibly humbled to share that I’ve been named to the inaugural Drag Illustrated Power 100 — recognizing 100 of the most influential people in drag racing.
When Jennifer and I purchased South Georgia Motorsports Park in 2023, I never imagined that just a few years later I would be included on a list alongside so many people I have respected and admired in this sport.
While my name may be the one printed on this page, this recognition belongs to far more people than just me.
First, to my wife Jennifer and my daughters — thank you for believing in me, sacrificing alongside me, working beside me, and supporting some of the crazy ideas and long hours that come with chasing a dream like this. SGMP truly is a family effort.
To our incredible staff and management team, thank you for your hard work and for sharing our vision of making SGMP one of the best racing facilities in the country.
To our racers and fans — you are the reason we do this. Every ticket you buy, every race you enter, every post you share, and every time you choose to spend a weekend with us helps keep this sport alive and growing.
To our sponsors, partners, promoters, sanctioning bodies, vendors, and everyone throughout the racing industry who has believed in SGMP and given us an opportunity — thank you. None of what we’ve accomplished happens without those relationships.
Congratulations to the others recognized in this prestigious group making a difference everyday in our sport.
And thank you to Drag Illustrated for this incredible honor and for recognizing the work being done not only by me, but by our entire South Georgia Motorsports Park family.
We still have a long way to go. I’m still learning every day, and there is so much more I want to accomplish for SGMP and for the sport of drag racing.
I’m proud of this recognition, but even more proud of the people who helped put my name on that page.

WE’RE BACK! THE SOUTHERN NATIONALS IS COMING HOME TO SGMP IN 2027!
It’s official!
The NHRA Southern Nationals is returning to South Georgia Motorsports Park in 2027 for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!
After an incredible 2026 debut that brought the biggest names, the fastest cars and the most powerful race cars on the planet to South Georgia, NHRA has officially put SGMP and the Southern Nationals back on the 2027 schedule! Oh, and did we mentioned we broke the mph world record at 345mph on our debut?
And let us tell you…
WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!
The Southern Nationals isn’t just another race on the schedule anymore.
It’s SGMP.
It’s South Georgia.
It’s NHRA.
It’s 12,000 horsepower.
It’s 340+ MPH.
It’s the sound, the speed and the atmosphere that only the Southern Nationals can deliver!
The first one was historic.
The second one is going to be LEGENDARY.
To everyone who came out, supported us, worked with us, raced with us and believed in SGMP—THANK YOU!

NHRA announces a sellout crowd on Sunday for South Georgia Motorsports Park debut
NHRA officials announced a second consecutive sellout crowd on Sunday for its debut at South Georgia Motorsports Park for the NHRA Southern Nationals.

Legacy Lane Wall Capital Improvement Project
ADEL, GA (August 21, 2025) --- Fans, racers and businesses have a new way to show their support for South Georgia Motorsports Park by purchasing a limited-edition Legacy Lane Wall brick. Proceeds from the revenue generated will go towards capital improvements at the fan-friendly facility outside of Valdosta, Georgia. The Legacy Lane Wall will be adorned with personalized bricks and will be a focal point for specialty events and fan celebratory moments.
Fans, racers and businesses have two options to support the track. They can purchase terracotta bricks for $200, or they can purchase black granite bricks for $250 here. Each brick is 8” x 8” and will be a tremendous addition to the atmosphere of South Georgia Motorsports Park.
“We have been blessed to have great supporters, and we wanted to provide an opportunity for everyone to own a small piece of the South Georgia Motorsports Park,” said Raul Torres, South Georgia Motorsports Park owner. “Our goal is to continue to make permanent improvements that will make everyone’s experience even more enjoyable. We have major plans for South Georgia Motorsports Park and the Legacy Lane Wall bricks and plaques will be a major part of our future projects.”
When Raul and his wife, Jennifer, bought South Georgia Motorsports Park in 2023, it wasn’t just a business decision for them. They wanted to play a part in drag racing history and keep the spirit of their local track alive.
“One of the biggest reasons we decided to take on South Georgia Motorsports Park is because of the wonderful community that was a part of it,” said Torres. “We’ve heard the calls of people and businesses who want to pitch in and help keep the dream of SGMP alive, but they only have a certain amount they can contribute. The Legacy Lane Wall is a way for all parts of our support system to play a role in our success.”
Over the next 60 days a limited number of Legacy Lane Wall bricks will be available for purchase. Throughout this time window select purchasers will be randomly selected to receive prizes or free tickets to future events. Over the past year and half under Raul and Jennifer Torres’ leadership South Georgia Motorsports Park has seen a resurgence of activity with local bracket racing and specialty events.
