SGMP
Approved carry-in items
We want you to be comfortable and have a great time at SGMP. You’re welcome to bring binoculars, scanners, headsets, personal cameras, and seat cushions.
Seat cushion bags with compartments are allowed, but they may be inspected at the gate.
Strollers are permitted in the Pit Areas, Food Court, and Manufacturer Midway. For safety and space reasons, strollers aren’t allowed in the grandstand seating areas, and SGMP can’t be responsible for strollers left unattended.
Please note: all bags, purses, backpacks, and other items brought through the gate are subject to inspection.
SGMP is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
Prohibited items
To keep everyone safe, the following items are not allowed through the admission gates:
- Firearms, weapons of any kind, fireworks, and any items restricted by local, state, or federal law Outside food, drinks, or alcohol
- Coolers, thermoses, and freezer/ice packs
- Large beach umbrellas or tents in the grandstands
- Inline skates, skateboards, bicycles, scooters (motorized or manual), and similar items
- Glass, aluminum, or metal containers
- Support vehicles: Anyone operating a support vehicle must have a valid driver’s license. If a minor is found driving for any reason, the vehicle may be confiscated and the fan/team may be asked to leave the facility. This includes ATV’s, UTV’s, 4 wheelers, 3 wheelers, golf carts, and any other motorized vehicle.
- No staking: Please do not stake anything into asphalt or cemented areas.
- Restricted items may not be left in or around the gate area. Please return them to your vehicle. Any items left at the gates will be discarded.
SGMP reserves the right to refuse entry of any item deemed inappropriate.
Campground and general facility rules
Camping is welcome at SGMP, and we appreciate everyone helping keep the campground safe, clean, and respectful.
Approved camping methods
The following camping methods are allowed in the campground:
- Motor coaches and motor homes
- Travel trailers and pop-up trailers
- Pick-ups with camper tops
- Tents
- Cars, trucks, and buses
Key rules to know
- No glass containers are allowed in the campground.
- No open fires. Cooking fires must be contained to grills, smokers, or barbecue pits. Open fires will not be tolerated.
- No fireworks within city limits, per Cook County ordinance.
- No handguns/firearms permitted.
- No hunting or fishing on the premises.
- No swimming in lakes (beware of snakes and alligators).
- Wastewater, trash, and cleanliness
- Please do not dump wastewater on the ground. A contracted sanitation company comes through the park each evening and can remove wastewater for a fee: Milo: 229-356-0857
- Trash barrels are provided for your convenience. When a barrel is full, place it along one of the roadways for collection. Please dispose of trash properly so we can keep the park clean for everyone.
Parking and utilities
- Please respect all NO PARKING areas marked by flags and lines. These areas are reserved for staff access, special events, and equipment. Vehicles parked in these areas may be removed.
- There is a water station on the north side of the facility. Water is $20 per fill. Please use the station to fill your tanks, but do not hook up permanently—this station is for fill-up only.
- Please do not plug into the light tower generators. They are for security use only.
- Please do not park in or plug into an RV electrical spot unless you have prepaid or paid at the gate.
- Vehicles and spectator areas
- ATV’s, UTV’s, 4 wheelers, 3 wheelers, golf carts, and other motorized vehicles (other than cars/trucks) are not allowed to leave the facility through the main entrance or walk-through entrance. Cook County does not allow these vehicles on public roads.
- Anyone driving support vehicles must have a valid license. If a minor is caught driving for any reason, the vehicle may be confiscated and the fan/team may be asked to leave. No refunds.
- Motorcycles, bicycles, and any other vehicles are not allowed in the spectator area.
- A few final reminders
- Bags of ice are available for purchase at the concessions.
- Please respect your neighbors and your space.
- No inappropriate horseplay.
- No riding on the back of cars or trucks in the pits or staging lanes.
